Kiev is a huge European city with its pros and cons. Its main international airport is located on the left side of the Dnipro river, so the very first impression you take from that part.

Analysis of this path, from an airport to the city center, shows the sharp edge between forest and residential area. This edge becomes the topic for the discussions and project during the workshop "Emphasizing the Edge" with Mathilde Sivré and Bruno Tanant, organized by urban school CANactions.

Our idea is to blur this edge by implementing forest into the city. We have created a logical area and ways of this development in order to work around most problematic points and connect the whole structure.

Our detailed plans show that we thought not only about general views, but also the function and impact on the surrounding residential areas, trying to improve the quality of the related zones for inhabitants.

Our main landscape solution was to mix the types of trees from the forest, lakes, and garden in order to create a unique system for the diverse of the zones.
