QUADRONNO

Project took place in Milan on Via Quadronno, 24. It is a real residential building built by Angelo Mangiarotti and Bruno Morasutti in 60s.

Our aim was to create a new living solution in this building. We were making an apartment for co -living, which includes 6-8 people. Through the massive analysis of the different possible components, groups of inhabitant their needs and interests we have created a data with list of requirements for each category.

An original plan of the building is complex and easy at the same time: from one side it has very complicated shape with a lot of irregularities, from another point of view it can be totally open due to the main structure (mainly columns).

In our plan solution we have created 3 private and 3 public zones. Private consists of two bedrooms for couples with private bathrooms and two for singles with shared bathroom. All the public zones are in a certain way closed and hidden, protecting the feeling of privacy.

As a final point of our project was done a maquette 1:25 as a part of an exhibition which took place at Politecnico di Milano.
